Ooh! I totally need this book! I'm serving Sangria at my wedding in October - but I've never made it before. So I most definitely need a good recipe for a yummy white and red Sangria for my guests.
I'm wondering what do you call sangría... I'm from Spain (where sangría was created) and we most certainly have just 1 thing called sangría, and it's made out of red wine. The word sangría itselt meand "bloodletting", so it has to be red! The only variation we're starting to see over here is the white one, made out of white wine instead of red, but it definitely has very different ingredients from the ones you're mentioning.
Don't take me wrong, I'm all for experimenting in the kitchen and variating (although it kind of hurts when I think what king of paella people eat on the other side of the Atlantic) I'm just curious about what do you mean by sangría.
what king of paella? I'm sorry for the typos, the spelling, the grammar... I do my best, but it's not my language :)
Strawberry daiquiris
ralphandtara at gmail dot com
I love Sangria.
I baffled my Belfast housemates and celebrated by dipping into my precious stock of southern liquor to whip up some mint juleps because the holiday (it's one here as well) was making me homesick for my Southern roots. I've been thinking about making some strawberry basil hard lemonade for our belated get-together with work friends next weekend. Not strictly for memorial day, a celebration of summer nonetheless.
Memorial Day, my own concoction, as on Sunday we cut up watermelon and had let it soak in citrus vodka overnight, the remaining vodka and watermelon juices we mixed into OJ, WOW... made an awesome screwdriver!
Frozen Mud Slides--YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mojitos...

Yesterday I mixed up a sangria type drink I named catus koolaid..
The ingredients: Prickly Pear Catus Juice, vodka, cranbery juice, any clear soda, little splash of lemonade........and fruit(grapes, strawberries, oranges, melons, granny smith apples).........serve over ice....but do not let your brother use one of your new gold trimmed martini glasses....lol
I'm not even sure if this was healthy, but our friends got a still and made their own moonshine. We took shots, and to wash it down, I had my favorite- Malibu and pineapple.
I just got a bottle of Belvedere Pear Vodka and would love to find a way to use that......
Cheers!
