Nealey hails from Atlanta, Georgia, and she is a brand new recipe contributor to The Kitchn. We know how you all love Southern comfort food (with some modern style thrown in!) and Nealey was the perfect girl for the job. We are loving her delicious cooking and photos, and we hope you are too! Here's a little more about Nealey, including her secret kitchen indulgence and favorite quote on food and cooking.

A FEW QUESTIONS FOR NEALEY

  1. What's your favorite kitchen tool?
My 10-piece glass nesting bowl set, which gets used at least once a day ( I should probably just leave them on the counter at all times). They are perfect for prepping mise en place, mixing batters, and even holding leftovers. A girl can never have too many nesting bowls... or casserole dishes for that matter.

  2. What's your secret indulgence in the kitchen?
Butter, unsalted of course. I'm no Paula Deen, but butter is the foundation of almost every recipe in my kitchen, both sweet and savory. I ran out of it the other morning while trying to prepare my morning toast, in which total panic ensued. I had to take an emergency trip to the grocery store, where I stocked up on 5 pounds to keep in the freezer. In Scarlett O'Hara fashion, I will NEVER run out of butter again.

  3. What's your favorite quote on food, cooking, or eating?
"One of the delights of life is eating with friends; second to that is talking about eating. And, for an unsurpassed double whammy, there is talking about eating while you are eating with friends." - Laurie Colwin. This quote pretty much sums up my life. If I am not eating food (which I usually am), I am thinking about it, talking about it, or dreaming about it. My poor boyfriend.
