We've definitely reached a level of Kickstarter fatigue recently with some of the silly projects that have popped up—and raised lots of money. But we're excited about a new crowd-funding site, Barnraiser.
Just think of it as a Kickstarter for farmers and the sustainable food movement.
Instead of being open-ended like Kickstarter and Indiegogo, Barnraiser is focused solely on small food and agricultural projects. You'll find everything from small farms looking to expand, to educational programs hoping to reach elementary school kids, to a beekeeping resource center.
One of the best parts is that you're not limited to supporting farmers and programs in your own community; you can support any project you feel is worthwhile. Could this be the new CSA? Tell us what you think in the comments.
