No one EVER believes me when I say I grew up with chocolate gravy on the breakfast table on a semi-regular basis! We would have it about once a month on Sunday mornings and it was amazing. After I got married, my husband surprised me with breakfast one morning and to my disbelief, it was biscuits and chocolate gravy :) We had no idea we both shared the love for it! So glad to see it be recognized as an actual, real thing that exists - I will refer to this post if anyone ever doubts again!

OMGsh!! My Aunt Sylvia made Chocolate Gravy when were were kids! Nobody believed us either when we would talk about it!

Our family calls the meal "cocoa and biscuits." Although I grew up in Wisconsin, this one of the ways my mom reminded us of our southern heritage (poor southern sharecropper heritage, to be exact)! All throughout my childhood my mom would make these the morning after a sleep over, and I never had a friend who tried them and didn't love them either.
