When you think of snack foods radishes don't always make the list. They have their place in cuisine and we love them dearly as appetizers but we've never really thought of them as crispy, let alone sugary — until now.
I've often felt that radishes are an unsung hero that don't really get their time in the spotlight. They look so pretty in photos and it can be difficult to remember to toss them into your basket at the grocery store unless you already had a plan for them.
Well here's your plan. It starts with thinly sliced radishes that take a quick trip through the microwave, get drained, tossed in a little oil and seasonings, and then get baked until crisp. It's a simple trick that gives you something new to crunch on with your morning yogurt, eaten out of hand for a quick pick me up, or taken along to your next pot luck for something unusual on the table!

That is so strange. Are you saying it tastes good? I guess I'll try next time we get a bunch of radishes in our CSA box rather than just let them get all wrinkled and eventually just compost them.
I love the idea of making crispy radish chips! I agree that cinnamon and sugar on them sounds a little...unusual. But hey, I'll give it a go!
Any idea how to do this without a microwave? Like maybe prebake or steam the radishes to soften before roasting? I received a bunch of radishes with my CSA share and am curious to try :)
How long would they last in air tight containers? Say if i were to make them to take on a car trip or to a barbecue later in the week?
I love radishes and cinnamon sugar so I'm a bit excited to try this (especially as I have left over radishes from yesterday now!)
