These jars are one of my favorites from this year's Housewares show. I actually saw them online a few weeks ago, and I was hoping to see them in person. These are going to be just lovely in the right kitchen.
These jars are from the Danish design group Kähler, and distributed in North America by the Canadian company Urban Butik. They brought them to the show, and I was really impressed by the soft organic form of the jars, and their wood tops. There is a rubber or silicone seal around the inside edge of the top. I wouldn't necessarily keep all my flour in one of these jars, but I could see a row on the countertop with tea, sugar, and cookies.
The jars will be available through Urban Butik later this spring. They come with a relatively high price tag, as you might expect, but it's not out of reach for a special splurge in the kitchen. Urban Butik expects the three different sizes to retail for between $48 and $98 each.
