I am on a toffee hunt again (as in 2009 and 2010). As a toffee lover and someone who likes to make it, give it, and get it as a gift during the holidays, I am looking for the very, very best toffees in the country to test and publish here at The Kitchn in December.
Got great toffee? We're looking for this year's winner — a shop that makes artisan-quality, incredibly yummy holiday toffee. Or, if you have a perfect recipe for toffee, we'd love that too! Do you have a tip for us? Send it in and get on the site so we can shine a light on you. All info below.
Submissions received so far:• Elan Toffee
• Simmering Sugar Gourmet Toffee
• Tungsten Toffee
• Vermont Krunch Toffee Co.
• Toffee Talk
• Darden & Wells Toffee Co.
Over the next two weeks we're collecting samples from shops all over the country that would like to be included. Are you a shop or want to tip us off to one? All you need to do is send a toffee sample to us with a note.
By November 30th:

Enstrom Toffee! An uncle of mine sends it to everyone each year for christmas. As a tradition, my dad would hide our batch and we'd have to go find it!
I'm in the wrong country, but the best toffee I've come across is the Croquenbouche (crunch-in-your-mouth) from DouceSoeur (a pun meaning both "candy" and "gentle sister"). I get a box at the annual craft fair here in town.

There's nothing better than my grandfather's toffee, I'm convinced.
Yes, yes, yes!!!! Enstrom's is AMAZING!!!! I'm not even particularly a toffee fan, and I LOVE this toffee!!!!
A suburban-Detroit tradition...

Outstanding small, family business that operates in the cooler months and makes pecan toffee that can also be dipped in milk or dark chocolate.
Ooooh I love toffee- can't wait for the winning recipe!
Here's a freebie: Joy of Cooking recipe called "Nut Crunch." Page 788, 1984 edition, (33rd printing.) Not the "Toffee" recipe just below it. I always double recipe for 3-qt pan, always use hazelnuts cooked with the butter and sugar, always use toasted almonds in topping.
OMG. To. die. for. :-)
This is brilliant! I need to create a contest that involves people sending me tasty treats.
Definitely Enstrom's!!
I've tried an amazing number of the toffees mentioned this year, and, looking through the '09 and '10 comments, from those suggestions, too. I wonder what that says about my toffee capacity?!? Anyhow, the one I always come back to, with quality and flavor and sheer lusciousness that never fails, is the Victoria toffee from See's. They used to offer a tiny hammer to break it up, but we never needed that - when it arrived, we simply ate it all before we could be polite about it. Wow!
Vermont Krunch Toffee Company has toffee to die for! Best in the world!!
I love Enstrom's, too. The nuts and chocolate left in to bottom of the box after all the toffee is gone is great on ice cream!

Enstrom's is delicious. My go-to holiday gift.
One of the best house guest presents I ever received was a tub of Miette's All-American Toffee and a tub of their English Toffee.
