Q: I'm trying to find a waffle iron that does both round Belgian-style waffles and pizzelles (or at least, thin enough waffles to make waffle cones).
I'd rather have one appliance that does both than two for essentially the same purpose. Any ideas?

Editor: Cara, this is an obvious double-duty feature for a small appliance, right? Well, it's proved surprisingly hard to find. Emeril's brand had one, but it appears to be off the market. If you look hard, though, you can find those on eBay, like here:
• Emerilware Waffle/Sandwich/Pizzelle Maker, $35 on eBay
Readers, do you know of other brands of combo waffle and pizzelle makers? Or have you tried the one above? How did it work for you?

I hadn't thought of this before, but it does seem pretty easy for manufacturers to make a plate that flips over for waffles or pizzelle. Despite the fact that I have very little appliance space, I still hang on to both machines in my house because pizzelle are fabulous. A batch takes a long time to make - I am jealous of the model pictured with room to make three at a time because mine only does two - but it's always worth it.
My favorite use (other than just munching on them) is to wrap them around a wooden dowel right off the press. They will harden into a perfect cannoli shell shape!
I've been researching this exact type of item for a few months now. The VillaWare V5230 InterBake3 - 2 Square Multibaker is available now at amazon.com. It has interchangeable plates for waffles, pizzelles, and pocket sandwiches. I haven't yet tried it so I can't personally attest to it's quality, but it has decent reviews on amazon. The Belgian waffle grid is square, not round as you indicated you wanted, in case that's a deal breaker.
Thanks so much for the info! Round is what I wanted in particular - I think I might just contact manufacturers.
