Take a look at this beautiful cake stand we saw this weekend...

For my bridal shower my mother commissioned a cake from a talented friend. He made an absolutely luscious lemon cake with raspberry filling (homemade raspberry filling!), but the presentation made a big impact too.

He made this stand himself out of barnwood from his brother's old barn. He painted it pale green and used old doorknobs for the the feet. Rustic, simple, and very sweet!

This is also a very economical and green way to reuse things that would otherwise be thrown away. It went beautifully with the cake.
