Hello there, random frozen pie dough. Nice to see you again, frozen peas. If your freezer is anything like mine, you may have frozen bits and bags of things that have been in there awhile. You're not sure how long, or whether they're freezer burned. That is, until now.
Leave it to Martha Stewart to design pretty freezer labels that help you keep track of your frozen goods. Not only does this keep you organized, but it gives you an excellent excuse to clean out the freezer and start actually using up what you throw in there. I'm amazed at the random bits of pie dough and frozen pieces of cornbread I found when I set out to label our freezer. I think you will be, too.

The waste alone means that I will never use these... but they sure are pretty. Scrawling dates with a Sharpie or grease pen will have to suffice.
Given how so many things have different "shelf" lifes, it'd probably be wiser to mark items with a "use by:" date. (Now, if only I can get in that habit myself...)
I don't see why this is better than just writing the date on a blank label. Much easier to read at a glance.
Masking tape. Sharpie. Done. Stays on in the freezer & even through the dishwasher. Peels off like a breeze. No sticky left behind. Perfect.
I was immediately smitten with these when I saw them in one of her magazines. But I will still just stick w/my current method of masking tape and a sharpie.
Sharpie all the way. While the labels are cute, they're kind of a waste.
It's been my experience that sticker glue hardens in the freezer and the sticker pops off. Isn't it just better to write the date on with a Sharpie? Permanent marker can't pop off.
We use the blue painter's tape to label everything in the fridge---don't know about the freezer though.
i must admit i was a little giddy when i first saw the labels, but then it all went away as i read the comments. everyone here's right: that, while the labels are cute, they're waste. we always have masking tape on hand from various painting projects. so, back to masking tape and sharpie!
Another vote for the black Sharpie method here. I do love the idea of a pretty label (and I followed the links to find excellent mason jar labels, too), but they never work for me.
I wish I had the time to worry about pretty freezer labels. Although marking the date on things is a good idea.
Where are the ones from the picture on the left?
Tried with a co-worker...couldn't get these to print without jamming.
This post has great labels. I personally use regular <a="https://signslabelstapesandmore.com/freezer-date-labels-c-120_122.htm">freezer grade date labels. To me it is easier to read the month, call it lazy, but either way is a great way to keep your freezer organized.
