Think you know your fusilli from your gemelli? Can you tell the difference between stellete and pastina? Looking for a ten-minute brain diversion, we stumbled upon this fun little quiz.
AOL's pasta shape identification quiz is harder than it looks. We were quite pleased to even get 19 out of 24, and that was with one or two lucky guesses. But even if you don't do very well, it's awesome to be reminded of all these shapes and textures of pasta. We were just a little sad not to see some of our favorites: strozzapretti or Fregola
Once you've taken the quiz, we'll bet you'll have a pasta craving. If so, check out these recipes:
• Lemon-pepper Pasta with Capers
• Rich No-cream Wild Mushroom Pasta Sauce
• Roasted Garlic, Olive, and Tomato Pasta Salad
• Broccoli and Feta Pasta Salad
• Ricotta Pasta with Fava Beans and Bacon

Red-and-Pink-Stripe...

I got 13 right, you're right. That was a hard quiz
21 right -- i think it helps to speak a latin language -- i.e., french
The language does matter - I got 20 right, and most of it was from knowing French/Spanish!
22 out of 24
18 of 24. I'm okay with that.
Rock on, Luigi!!!!!
20 out of 24 - surprised myself!
good link, thanks. =)
20 out of 24 - i was hoping i would do better, as an italian-american, but oh well. there were a couple that i had actually never seen before.
14 out of 24... I'd see all of them, and a lot of the time I would guess and change my answer, and then the original answer had been right
Being raised in an Italian community really helps! 22 out of 24... that was fun!
I only got 14 right (with my boyfriend's help), I speak some spanish too, but I guess it didn't help enough.
16 right, don't speak french or italian, just a little spanish. Also hadnt seen half of the shapes before, but did some guessing.
