Needless to say, my mind was rather blown when I saw this tip over on Lifehacker. Flip a muffin tin upside down to make edible bowls out of cookie dough? I can get on board with that.
It really is as simple as it sounds. Make a batch of cookie dough, turn over your muffin tin, and press the dough around the individual muffin wells (now muffin domes). A spritz of non-stick coating over the muffin tin helps ease the bowls off after baking.
This makes bowls that are just the right size for a few scoops of ice cream or a helping of pudding. Cookie dough also strikes me as sturdy enough to hold that ice cream without cracking or turning into mush before you're done with the ice cream part. Even so, I'm thinking that a plate underneath the cookie bowl is probably a good idea!
Have any of you tried making these?

Terrific idea!!
I'm rendered speechless. As much as I dislike this hackneyed phrase - this really is thinking outside the box.
GENIUS!
Great idea! Could you do this with puff pastry, too, I wonder?
I love this idea.
I do it all the time with great results. It's especially good for mini quiche.
I think this might actually change my life....
Wow! I can't wait to try it.
of course! it's amazing sometimes that things as simple as this was never considered or even thought of! will have to try this since that picture looks like a perfect bowl for ice cream....
herzsprung - i hate to admit it, but I think I once saw Sandra Lee do exactly that.
I've been tasked with supplying the dessert/fruit for my eldest sons class christmas party. I think they'll love these!
I don't have a flower one, but this would be perfect for tarts and such from a normal muffin tin!

I see a ginger cookie cup with vanilla bean ice cream in my future.
I think I'll try this with a cracker recipe instead.
Mmmmm, this makes for so many fun pairings. Will have to keep this in mind.
BRILLIANT
