This rather muted, traditional kitchen has one really offbeat accessory. Can you see it? It's a disco ball!
We never thought of having a disco ball in the kitchen; it seems way too retro and um, college dorm-esque. But the little disco ball here probably scatters points of light from that one window, and creates sprinkles of bright light throughout the kitchen.
What do you think? Is a disco ball just the thing your kitchen needs?

I really don't think so.
i have one too--for some reason, every time i move, the only place that i have for my disco ball is on the top of the kitchen cabinets. it makes me happy!
heh thats pretty cute
I also have one in the kitchen, a smaller version. I'm not really sure how it ended up in the kitchen, but I like it there.
I wouldn't be against it in the kitchen, but it looks too out of place in this really dull kitchen.
why
oh, this isn't a joke?
Meh. It looks kind of silly. Maybe if the kitchen was more quirky but it just sticks out like a sore thumb imo.
I'm sorry, but that just looks out of place.
This look is great. Disco balls, crystal, and mirrors can do wonders for energies and are often used in feng shui. The Kitchn readers probably know this anyway -- kitchens are the center of well being in a home!
We had a disco ball in the kitchen...but it got too covered with grease and didn't really shine anymore!
If the kitchen was funkier, it could be cool. I can see them being a nice touch near a window so it could spray light around the room. However, for this kitchen, I don't think it fits.
