Bi-color cabinets are a growing trend, but this example does something a little unusual: they extend the black color up the wall, and even paint right over the lower part of the cream cabinet for a very clear-cut light/dark line. An unusual choice, don't you think? Would you do it this way? See another photo below:

Straw Mat from The ...

I love this. Possibly it helps that there's only one upper cabinet.
I love it, but it kind of reminds me of Hungary's Thick Red Line, so it also kinda creeps me out.
I hate it. It looks like a Looney Toons accident. Leaving the cabinets white wouldn't have taken away anything in my opinion, and doing this adds nothing but a visual disturbance, again in my opinion, as others may love it.
Is it more Looney Toons than having the sink plumbing exposed along the wall? And is that a coal-burning range? I think I'd rather have the whole cabinet be white. I'm actually not sure about a color change partway up the walls at all. Seems sort of institutional. My kids' schools commonly have this two-paint color thing going on, although usually it is not such nice colors as these.
i think this looks good - but i don't think it would look good in another kitchen. also, if this were my place, i'd just lower the black, and it does nothing for me being up so high. but i'm itty bitty short, so everything should be low to me :)
