Want to do something truly eye-catching in your kitchen? How about a giant Union Jack painted on the wall? In a more subtle color palette, of course. This modern butler's pantry, designed by Tinsley Hutson-Wiley
and Alison Bloom
for the San Francisco Decorator Showcase, gives "a nod to the British tea-time tradition," as the pair told
Remodelista back in August. How did they get the look? The designers covered the wall in plywood sheeting, nailed strips of oak on top, and then painted the Union Jack mural using Benjamin Moore Navajo White paint and a khaki- and kohl-colored stain, finished with a high gloss lacquer.
