Wayne Thiebaud is a Pop Art painter whose 1963 work Cakes features a table of frosted cakes rendered in paint so thick it looks like real frosting. We can't blame anyone for wanting to taste one — or all of them, as one couple managed to do when they recreated the painting with real cakes for their wedding.
Take a look at their impressive work after the jump!
This wedding also included a giant pan of paella, a roasted pig, and science-themed homemade cookies made by family members. (The bride is a science teacher.) What a fun and personal way to celebrate a special day!

Cute!
The "homemade wedding cookie" thing is also generally a Pittsburgh tradition (even though this couple appears to be Californian). It's good to see the cookie tradition spreading.
Mmmm, cookies.
I LOVE Thiebaud and this display is just too wonderfully creative and delicious. I am drooling! Thanks for the inspirational lift!
