I absolutely love the look of this bookshelf. Don't you? A one-stop-shop bookshelf like this is helpful for a number of reasons: the top half is great for storing cookbooks, dishes, and serving ware, while the small cubby drawers on the bottom are perfect for flatware, utensils, linens, and other kitchen miscellanea.
We couldn't find the brand or maker of this bookshelf (spotted in Better Homes & Gardens), but you may be able to recreate the look with Room and Board's Slim Collection (as one reader noted below) or West Elm's Whitewashed Wood and Metal shelf and the IKEA Moppe drawers. (Moppe is the replacement for the Fira collection, which was discontinued.) Moppe is currently only available on the UK IKEA site, and doesn't appear to be available stateside or in Canada. However, we hope it's just a matter of time!
In the meantime, if you know of other wood cubby drawers or a bookshelf like the ones in the photo, please share!

This is gorgeous. That would sooooo be in the kitchen of my dreams. I'd use some of those drawers to store my spices.
Great looking but I would go nuts trying to remember what is in every drawer (the cards on the front are so small to put any info of contents in each drawer). I haven't moved anything in my kitchen arrangement since I remodeled in '99 but my husband still can't find anything when he is cooking. (But he can tell me to the inch where to find a tool in his shop!!!)
The bookcase looks very similar to the Room & Board "slim" collection.
Wow, I love love LOVE this bookcase. I just got my first kitchen bookcase and it is nowhere near as attractive as this, but I love it all the same. Right now it has cookbooks, my personal recipe binder, and a lot of winter squash jammed on the shelves. :)
We use a bookshelf in the kitchen. It is an IKEA bookshelf with narrower upper shelves and deeper lower for a great kitchen feel. I think it would drive me nuts to keep dishes that I use often on it. The dust have me washing them before each use. I also like the look of the drawers but I wonder how practical I would find them.
I keep books, my microwave, canisters, a cookie jar, slow cook, food processor and cake plate on ours. It is really for things that I need regularly but not daily and helps me keep my counters clear.
Does anyone know where I can get card catalogs or something similar to the moppe drawers? Unfortunately the Ikea in my neighborhood doesn't sell them and I've been searching everywhere for a replacement. It doesn't have to have the front label/pulls.
This would be a great addition to my kitchen. But, I will buy bookshelves with doors on the bottom or replace these little drawers with baskets or boxes so that I can store food in that part of the shelves.
