Even if you're not a fan of the open shelving look, there are a few great ideas in this Scandinavian kitchen: a nook above the semi-see-through pantry closet for shopping baskets, suspended lights over the countertop, a yellow tile (!) backsplash that wraps around the wall. See more photos below:

I particularly love this kitchen for the way it imbues color into a very white space. What do you think?

I agree with you except for the lights above the counter. They just look completely in the way of everything! They must get bonked 10 times a day as the owner is working or simply pulling things off of the shelves. It's nice to see a kitchen that isn't "just so" and overdone.
Does anyone have experience with white floor boards? I love the look in the abstract, but does it end up being miserable to clean?
I love that yellow tile! Yellow kitchens always seem so cheerful.
I love this but would tone back the white just a tad.
I'd warm up the floor with wood stained flooring instead of painting them white like they did here.
I also agree, the hanging lights in front of the shelves are in the way. I'd have fixed lighting under the cabinets and maybe put a pair of suspended globes in the ceiling proper itself for generalized lighting.
Otherwise, it's a nice, and hard working kitchen with bold swathes of color and I love yellow, as well as red and am glad to see they used glossy yellow tiles instead of the over used subway tiles in white.

i love the yellow tiles and pictures of their children.
I love this kitchen because it looks loved and lived in (even if almost all white). I like that it isn't all fitted. But I think they wasted a lot of space on the giant dumpling photo...Meringues? Formed cream? Can't tell...don't like it.
Love this.
