This is definitely the most unique backsplash we've ever seen: it's made up of not one, not two, but three different ceramic tile patterns, each of them flowing right into the next. You can see two of the patterns above - jump below to check out the third pattern!

Owner Michelle Weinberg calls the backsplash (which she installed herself) "the most wonderful feature" in her kitchen. A friend gave her small amounts of the three different ceramic tile patterns, so instead of lamenting the fact that she didn't have enough of one to make a full backsplash, she just combined them all together for a truly one-of-a-kind look.

Sorry, but i feel like we're going to see this kitchen backsplash again in a few years when Michelle sells her place and the next person sends in pictures to ask "what was the previous owner THINKING?"
I actually really like this. It creates an interesting rustic and old world feel while still feeling fresh.
I love it. It makes me happy that it was a gift too.
I'm not wild about the green circles, and I would have loved to have seen some large focal tiles added, but overall I like it and I think it can be a plus for the next owner too. Nice creativity and DIY!
I absolutely LOVE it. But then, I love the entire house. Amazing.
That is some fine tile cutting work going on around all the rectangular brick edges!
I like it. Wish we could have seen a shot taken from farther back that showed the whole backsplash.
