Liz had to deal with "the usual renter stuff" when she moved into her Durham, North Carolina duplex: unpaintable off-white walls and cabinets and a ho-hum kitchen. But with a few thoughtful tweaks the kitchen manages to look bright and clean, helped in part by the sunlight pouring through the window over the sink and the neatly arranged dishes and storage jars. Simple, yet functional and pretty - the best we can sometimes hope for in a rental kitchen!

Wow, Liz definitely has the touch (and I'm not even a fan of mid-century modern)! Best news yet, though, is that she lives in *my* neck of the woods and in a fun, very eclectic neighborhood -- it's always great fun to see such talent in my own backyard.
