Day 19 Task: Buy Something Nice For Your Kitchen
Now that you have a totally clean kitchen, it's time to treat yo' self to something pretty. It doesn't have to be big or expensive — just a little something that will add some beauty to your kitchen and make you want to be there that much more.
My personal criteria for the assignment was to purchase something small, useful, and permanent. No flowers or good-smelling spray that I don't really need. This gorgeous dish soap dispenser and good-smelling dish soap was my gift to my kitchen.
I've had my eye on this brass tipped soap dispenser for some time now. I've seen it everywhere, including Faith's Daily Find and on the West Elm website.
When I called West Elm to inquire if they had it in store, they were out of stock. I decided to let it go and find a tea towel at my favorite little boutique Green in BKLYN, but when I got there, they had the soap dispenser too! I took it as a sign and decided to purchase it along with a recommended dish soap.
It's almost funny how giddy I am about my purchase. I keep looking at it in the kitchen because it adds some element of beauty that was seriously lacking. The soap smells like spicy oranges, and is thin enough to go through the slender spout with ease. Is it possible to be in love with a dish soap dispenser? Because I am.
I'm super tempted to get the matching copper pump-top soap dispenser from Haven as well; what do you think? It's totally unnecessary, I confess, but think it would look so nice in my kitchen.
