Moleskine notebooks have a cult following (and extremely good brand PR!). Those little black notebooks are used for many things, and they have even been cleverly adapted by some cooks into recipe organizers (see this neat one from Delicious Days). Well, now Moleskine is responding to those who would like a little more from their black notebooks. They've issued several new editions, two of them pointed directly at cooks and wine-lovers.
Moleskine is releasing a new series of notebooks called "Passions," organized around things people feel passionate about. Food and recipes, wine, film, books — they all have Moleskine notebooks dedicated to them.
We often find recipe systems and notebooks too confining, but we have to say that the Moleskine notebook is looking pretty good to us so far. We like the layout of the recipe pages, and the ability to customize the book with labels.
We also really like the wine journal. We have been trying to be more disciplined about taking notes on the wine we drink, and this journal seems like it could be a great help for that.
What do you think about these new Moleskines? Do you already use a recipe or wine journal? You'll have to wait a little while to get your hands on one of these, though; Amazon says they'll be out in March.

I was looking for these at Christmas time for gifts and wondering why Moleskine has not come up with them.
Better late than never!!!
I, too, would have bought the recipe one (Passions sounds a bit like a soap-opera tie-in) for my niece, who asked for a recipe journal. Probably still will.
I've been using a moleskine sketchbook for recipes for years now, and I think I'll stick with that - I can use as much or as little room on a page as I need, and leave room for drawing diagrams and pictures if I want.
I might give it a try--I have two Moleskine sketchbooks filled with recipes and notes, but it might be nice to have a little more structure--it's hard to find my recipes in the sketchbooks.
They need to make one for the beer lovers out there.
One word: Evernote.
Wah I want one! I use a moleskine journal (squared paper) for ideas and lists, but I'd love something with more structure to write up the successful recipes.
oddly, all my recipes have been written in a moleskine over the past two years... i dont think i could switch just because they came out with a version for recipes, but i'll consider it for other cooks :)
