You know we're big fans of linen in the kitchen. Linen is tough and lasts nearly forever, and it's also beautiful. It can also be extra-expensive, but we have found that independent artisans offer better prices and more lovely designs for linen than mainstream kitchen shops. Here's one of our favorite online shops for kitchen textiles: LinenMe.
LinenMe is run by Inga Lukauskiene, who currently lives in the UK. She was born into a textile-manufacturing family in Lithuania, however, so she says that her love for linen must be in her blood.
Lukauskiene crafts quite a range of textiles, from bedding to pillow covers, but the majority of her offerings are for the kitchen and dining room. We love the old-fashioned stripes and rustic look of her table runners, and the bright patterns on her kitchen towels. Her napkins and tablecloths are extremely reasonably priced, for linen, and her shipping costs to the United States are under $10.
She also can do custom work or create custom sizes of her designs. We have an extra-large dining table, and we've been thinking about buying a custom tablecloth soon.
Here are a few more of our favorite pieces from LinenMe:
• French Linen Quality Tablecloth Natural Red Striped Provence, $54.99
• Linen Cotton Dish Tea Towels Red Blue Squares, $9.99
• Hand Made Runner Black Rhomb Weaving, $26.99

I just bought a blue-striped table cloth and matching napkins over christmas from her - I love them!
I've been drooling over that red-striped tablecloth for ages, and dropping hints like crazy.
It wasn't under the Christmas tree, though... I may have to just suck it up and go for it.
I have a boatload of damask linen napkins that were my mother's and never used them much because the ironing of them was such. a. pain.
Then it hit me--just as unironed wearable linen is so soft and gets better with each laundering, might the linen napkins be the same? Yes--and we're using them and enjoying them much more now.
I just bought set of beautiful natural linen napkins from LinenMe www.linenme.com/table-linen/linen-napkins/natural-linen-napkins-Crown
That was a gift for my wife. She was impressed with the quality of handwork!
