What a lovely, seasonal touch for a salad or appetizer plate! We bookmarked this idea months ago and are excited that autumn has finally arrived so we can give it a try.
Shown in Martha Stewart Weddings, these savory crisps are made from wonton wrappers cut with leaf-shaped cookie cutters and seasoned with Parmesan cheese and herbs. Of course, you could use a different cookie cutter shape and make them in any season, but the delicate, golden look and texture seem particularly appropriate for autumn leaves.

Straw Mat from The ...

Fabulous idea!! Gorgeous - I can envision so many possibilities....
Definitely going to use this as a garnish this Thanksgiving.
So adorable!
I have a good friend who will be coming home from a trip on Monday. I am going to bake her the Pumpkin Whoopie Pies from yesterdays post....and now I think I'll use this as an autumn garnish! (...but baked with cinnamon & sugar of course)
Thanks for the idea! :)
Or use sheets of puff pastry for leaves of more substance.
I have done something like this in the past!
I made it for halloween last year (perfect timing) and the only difference was that it was deep fried and I cut in into the shape of a ghost and coated it in cinnamon and sugar (like morganong) and placed it on top of icecream with an other sheet of it cut in a square, underneath. And since it was a sweets party I topped it with chocolate syrup and beer nuts. It was a huge hit!
