Rosé has been the Pink King of picnic baskets and pool-side cafe tables the past few summers. Again this summer we see rosé displays blooming in wine store windows.
While rosé is still enjoying "newfound status" among the trend-conscious, we think a new summer wine trend is afoot ...
Fizzy, fun, and food-friendly, we say Lambrusco is ready to become the new trendy summer wine. Wine critic Eric Asimov blogged about "rosé reluctance" and seems to prefer Lambrusco.
A wise bartender at Franny's introduced us to Lambrusco a few summers back. Since then, we've served Lambrusco at home with grilled meats and were surprised by how well it went with chicken parm.
