Do you have a clock in your kitchen? I'm not talking about the digital clock on your stove or microwave; I'm talking about the good ol' fashioned wall clock—which, granted, isn't a necessity anymore now that cell phones and iPads and all manner of digital devices offer the time at a moment's whim. But when the battery in my wall clock recently died, I realized how often I glance at the clock during the day. It's still an essential part of my home, and my kitchen, not to mention I love the look. How about you?

I, too, love the look. Growing up, we always had a kitchen wall clock; l have been looking for the perfect one for my kitchen. Love these examples!
I have a big old bakery clock in mine.
Not in my kitchen but I just moved into a new home and haven't unpacked everything yet and find myself looking around for the wall clock I usually have in my office/studio.
My kitchen has a wall clock with the East German "Sandmann" on it. Its a tad child-like and whimsical, and reminds my family of our six month stint in the Berlin area 6 years ago.
The kitchen clock was an essential part of growing up in my parents' house, so I had to have one too when I moved out. My sister bought me one as a house-warming gift and it has hung in every apartment I've lived in.
I have a great chile wall clock above my stove and I use it more than the digital one on the stove. I grew up with a clock in the kitchen and couldn't live without it.
I've found my kitchen clock to be absolutely essential for an at-a-glance oh-dear-I'm-almost-late realization every morning.
Over the kitchen door frame tends to be my location of choice - it's practical, not usable for anything else, and easily seen from both the table and coffeemaker. :)
I have an "antique" -- a Russel Wright clock -- on the kitchen wall, in addition to the digital clock built into the microwave. Besides enjoying the look, it's a good back-up when using the microwave clock as a timer, and all you get there is the count-down.

At my mom's house, there were at one point in the not-too-distant past that there were 47 discrete devices that displayed the time.
Yes, this includes things like VCRs, but also actual wall/table clocks, but does not include computers.
Now that I have a home with my fiancee, there are just three. The microwave and stove (one mounted above the other) both have a clock, and the alarm clock in the bedroom.
So far, we have forsworn clocks :)
I have to have a kitchen clock. A real clock.
I have a kitchen clock and I love it. Instead of numbers, it has little ceramic mugs glazed in bright colors, so it's literally a kitchen clock! I look at it all the time, especially in the morning when I'm making lunches or eating breakfast, to make sure I'm out the door on time.
HA! I have more wall clocks (not including the stove, coffee maker, and microwave clocks) than a coo-coo shop. Okay maybe not entirely that many but I have three. My favorite (other than a handmade clock by https://www.facebook.com/3crazymonkeys) is my talking homer simpson clock. It is insightful every hour on the hour
