Stephen runs a company he founded call Protein Bakery and teaches a lot of fitness classes so it should come as no surprise that health is a top priority in his kitchen as well.
Ever since Stephen got his juicer as a gift last Christmas he has an even greater incentive to stock the fridge with lots of fruits and veggies. While visiting, I had the honor of watching Stephen and the juicer in action. The result was lunch in a champagne glass that made me feel on top of the world! Until trying the homemade green liquid, I had underestimated the power of what is surely a meal of juice.
But it's not just the juice that was inspiring. Stephen is incredibly enthusiastic about his red-themed kitchen. Every inch of this room has been curated to reflect Stephen's creativity, collections, passions, and preference for order over chaos.
The fact that Stephen tinted the inside of his refrigerator red is indicative of the lengths he goes to carry out a theme. Yes, it's a place to prepare a meal, but for Stephen, the kitchen is also a place to celebrate rich memories and create new ones every day.

What's your cooking style? Mine is very Italian with a focus on adding a healthier balance to every meal and my fiancé is an artist in preparing authentic Puerto Rican food.
What is your favorite kitchen tool or element? My Staub La Cocotte french oven.
What inspires your kitchen? The love of spending time with my fiancé and friends… Creating food together: Roast Pork, Yellow rice with green pigeon beans, Pasteles, Lasagna, Stuffed Hamburger Night
Best cooking advice or tip you ever received: Don’t be so heavy handed when cooking. Less can be more.
Biggest challenge in your kitchen: Storage — I store my pots in the oven and wish I had more space. Also, keeping my limited counter space super clean while cooking.
Biggest indulgence: My new juicer! Recipe for juice meal during kitchen visit with Jill: Ginger, Pineapple, Parsley, Carrot, Pears, Collard Greens, Rhubarb, Apples
Dream tool or splurge: Kitchen Aid Mixer! If I get one I will have to find a place to store it and I will never stop testing recipes at home for The Protein Bakery. Work must stay at work!
What are you cooking this week? My Grandmother’s Chicken Cacciatore over protein pasta.
What cookbook has inspired you the most? The Joy of Cooking and Cooking With Rosie — Oprah’s Chief in the 90’s.
What's the most memorable meal you've ever cooked in this kitchen? We do appetizer night for award shows. Everyone that comes brings a favorite appetizer. Mac & Cheese cup cakes, Spinach dip made with yogurt and tons for garlic, Tater Tot’s with Cayenne Pepper…
