Larry is much more comfortable designing kitchens while Devorah loves to cook in them. Since becoming proud parents ten-weeks ago, however, Larry has had to learn to take a more active role in the cooking department.

Recently married, they moved into this house in the Valley in Los Angeles a few months ago. Together, they have figured out a way to serve each of their rather divergent tastes and food group preferences. Together, they have created a beautiful place to prepare and eat delicious food.
The incredibly generous climate made it possible for Devorah to plant a vegetable garden in May and for them to eat and reap the benefits through this week! In addition the back and front yards are dotted with beautiful and overflowing fruit trees. Instant self-sufficiency!
The kitchen is somewhat retro but new to them. After minor adjustments such as new appliances and a storage system that is both tidy and practical, Larry and Devorah have come to appreciate and even adore the quaint qualities of their inherited kitchen.

The cabinets are darling with the scalloped edge. Where did you get the glass mugs? I can not find any that are not super heavy. Your baby is adorable...congrats:)
Thanks so much for this glimpse into your wonderfully warm kitchen! It almost looks as cozy as your baby blessing does. Love the grains & spices & produce ... beautifully displayed (very healthy eating in your kitchen), stainless steel, wood, pail of succulents & that fruit bowl is sharp!
Love, Love, Love this kitchen. I could spend all day cooking in it, absolutely beautiful. I love wood and those cabinets are to die for. Thanks for letting us see your beautiful kitchen. Looks so cozy.
This kitchen is BEAUTIFUL!!! I'm so envious of those vintage cabinets, so well cared for, and the terrific tile! Such wonderful storage, great glass doors ... and that darling baby is so sweet and snuggly. I LOVE THIS KITCHEN!!!
LOVE the kitchen and so glad to see that you've left it intact - no painting of the cabinets or ripping them out! Feels so warm and organic.
i have no new comment to add to the coziness, welcomingness and usefulness of this kitchen; nor to the enthusiastic appeal of its dwellers. however, seeing the very same peppermill (slideshow no.8) we use here in Ankara, Turkey, reading lentil (is it common over there too?) and plain yogurt (well no westerner i have known so far liked this :)) in the recipe, i cannot help but wonder, have you been to Turkey? or around here? or is it just your own curiosity about the cuisine? thank you.
Umi, as a Westerner, I assure you that some of us do indeed love lentils and plain yogurt! :)
This is such a wonderful, warm, welcoming kitchen and I wish I was their neighbor so I could visit it!
your kitchen makes me smile!
This kitchen is so cozy and warm. I like the storage in the clear jars all out in the open. Does anyone know the brand of their toaster? We are in the market for a new one and this one has a lovely retro look that I like.
I simply love your kitchen.. I adore it, I also like colorful kitchen and lots of stuff.! I am so in love.:)) Great
