Look again. It's Sebastian Bergne's Kitchen Pencil design for Lapis. The pencils are actually wooden spoons. Or the spoons actually are pencils. Either way, the design combines two practical kitchen needs in a way that's familiar and comfortable.

hmm. very creative and space-saving, but i'm worried that my clumsy self would poke an eye out with this. it also strangely reminds me of that picture of a genetically altered mouse with an ear coming out of its back.
It's cute, but how would the pencil react to being washed?
At first I loved this, but then I had a vision of flipping a spoon over to make a recipe note, and flinging tomato sauce all over the kitchen in the process.
Faith, I agree. Plus, would it fit a standard pencil sharpener? I'd guess no, because it wouldn't be sturdy if it were that small in diameter. Cute, but it would go in my white elephant gift stockpile if I received one.
I bought one of these the other day from buysebastianbergne.com. Love it! For a small kitchen, it's perfect.
