This time of year, we're getting back in the swing of packing lunches. If you ever feel like your weekdays are a repeating loop of the above photo, kitchen organization can go a long way in simplifying and speeding the process:
- Plastic bags: If you reuse plastic bags, get a system going for washing and drying them so they're ready for the next use. This rack from Gaiam (pictured) can help, as can chopsticks in a cup or just the dish drying rack.
- Clips: I like to keep binder clips on hand for closing or connecting items to one another.
- Stock up: Organize your stock of prepared lunch items and ingredients in the refrigerator for quick transfer to a lunch bag/box in the morning. For organization tips and inspiration, check out this tour: A Visit With Bento Expert Biggie of Lunch In a Box.
