Kitchen Keeping: Give Me Liberty or Give Me French

Iconic American or totally French, Kitchen readers answered our dish soap challenge and sent us photos showing so many ways to keep dish soap on the counter in handy, beautiful ways.

Over the course of the week, we're going to highlight all the pictures you sent in. Suzanne in Seattle and Sheila are up today ...

"A friend gave me a Statue of Liberty bottle of maple syrup for watching her cat while she visited New York City for the first time. I held on to this bottle for a couple of years before finally finding a spout that fit about six months ago," says Suzanne.

Sheila's more pricey but fun solution comes from the Napa Style catalog, as recommended by another AT reader. Just flip the glass globe for soap.

"It's not quite as sturdy as it looks in the catalog, but the heft of the glass globe is nice, and it works very well. You're meant to add water to the liquid soap to make it easier to dispense, so less product is used each time, and it's actually easier to lather. And I love that I can keep the counter free of clutter," Shiela reports.

We'll be back with more soap stories tomorrow. Thanks to everyone who sent in pictures. We love these peeks into your kitchens!
