We are preparing to move to a new apartment, and although we have been known for having a colorful kitchen, our plans for the new space are quite different. Perhaps it's symbolic of the fresh start, or maybe we're inspired by the sunny windows in our new kitchen, but we keep imagining bright white walls with warm wood countertops, shelves, or other details. Here are some of the lovely examples we've bookmarked for inspiration. What do you think? Do you have – or dream about – a kitchen with these elements?

Love this look! Particularly the first picture, which has a decidedly rustic-yet-contemporary feel. I just renovated my kitchen and installed white cabinets and white carrara marble. I thought about using a butcher block countertop for my island but in the end decided to go with the marble for greater cohesion (my kitchen is not that large). To bring in the warm wood tones, I purchased a large John Boos butcher block cutting board that lives permanently on the island, and refinished my hardwood floors in a similar tone.
Oh, you are killing me with that last photo - big ole kitchen, farmhouse sink, what appears to be an Aga, wood floor and counter, pretty drop lights, lots of workspace...sigh.
I really love this look, although I'm not a fan of white rooms in general. A bit more color and I'd be even happier. But I love rooms #1 and #4. The rustic warmth goes so well with the clean, cool white. Now about getting a house...
Beautiful. I am a sucker for white dishes. I started out with Blue & White back in the stone age, migrated to Mexican pot and now sit firmly in my pile of mismatched white dishes. Aaaah, white confetti for din-din!
Love all of these except for #8.
This is what I'm planning for my kitchen renovation! The windows have unpainted casings, so I'm going to leave those as is and have white cabinets and a white countertop. The kitchen is very long, in a large open space, so I'm planning to have a long (9-10 foot) barn wood table as well.
I am really excited to see this post and photos about combining wood and white in a kitchen. It is what I am currently planning for a major kitchen re-do this summer. Currently I am trying to figure out what shade of white....does the look work with ivory or cream or does it need to be bright white? Also, I am planning walnut (with a light stain) base cabinets and white for the uppers. Any thoughts on if that is too two-tone for a medium size kitchen?
My dream kitchen!
Actually I've re-do my kitchen, made it a white semi outdoor kitchen which open to the backgarden. Love it!
