What color is your kitchen? Do you need a pick-me-up in these gray days of winter? Well, we're going to take a trip through some of the colorful kitchens featured on Apartment Therapy over the years. And what better color to start with than orange? We were inspired by Joanna's citrus roundup today to look for kitchens that have a spot or more of orange, the same color as our favorite winter fruit -- clementines.Click the thumbnails above to move through the gallery. Here are links to the original posts and kitchen tours.
1-3: Small pops of orange in an otherwise white kitchen. From Victor & Soeun's Romantic Loft, an entry in the Smallest Coolest Apartment 2007 contest. Also see their slideshow here.
4-7: A mood-lifting orange and red combo from Emily and Damon's Color-Infused Northwest Nest in Portland.
8: Another strong splash of orange that really defines an otherwise white and normal kitchen in Laura's Smart Dining Conversion.
9: We really like the dark orange with the black and white tiles here, in Jenni and Spencer's Small Cool 2008 entry.
10-11: Here's a bold one! Turquoise AND orange! Sandi's Happy Danish.
12: A bright orange brick wall in a yoga shala kitchen.
13-14: Usually we think that orange is a color best used in moderation, but the color of this high wall really warms the dining room and kitchen in Melinda's Colorful Quincy Loft.
15: And of course there is our recent spotlight of Meghan and Shawn's Vibrant Orange - such a bright and appealing kitchen!
16: We're really going back into the archives here, but you have to see this orange kitchen reno from Angela's Orange Crush -- the winner of the first AT kitchen contest way back in 2005.
17: How we wish we could have a closer look at this kitchen from the 3rd Fall Colors Contest! It's very orange, and very organized! The Crew Tag Boys' Balanced Energy
18: The Benjamin Moore Moroccan Spice color in this colorful Craftsman looks so warm and cozy, especially with all that wonderful wood cabinetry.
19: Yes, this kitchen from Misty in Austin is mostly blue, but we like how the orange really accents the rest of the colors.
20: There is a lot of orange going on in Lisa's Mission Abode -- between the orange cabinets and all that great Dansk cookware this might be a little much for us any other time of year, but in the gray winter it looks just right.

I have orange rubber gloves. They're just enough.
This is the colour of my kitchen/living room, we live in an open concept loft-style condo. It was the colour of the walls when we moved in, and I loved it right away. Definitely one of the reasons we chose the place.
I have orange in my kitchen and I love it! I'm not sure that the first picture has enough orange pop to be in this post though...too much white...nothing orange popped out at me.
I keep my orange in the bedroom. It is like waking up and having a glass of orange juice before I even get to the kitchen! It might seem garish to some, but orange is warm, cozy, and relaxing to me...and my FAVORITE COLOR!
ohhhhh! ahhhhh! kindred spirits!

I did the same thing a couple of years ago. If I had known how much working painting the cabinets would be I probably wouldn't of done it but I LOVE it and it alwas gets tons of compliments:

Then we did darker countertops a year later:

These are great. I live in an apartment with a ugly, boring beige kitchen that we've never bothered to really decorate, but we're in the market for a house and when we buy one, I want orange in there! To spruce up the boring kitchen, I have the tangerine Kitchenaid mixer, and I have a selection of Fiesta's tangerine dishes (mixed in with my vintage Fiesta.) And I have some really great kitchen linens (potholders, etc.) in an orange print with atomic fish on them that I got at Anthropologie.
I live in an apartment, so my kitchen is your standard white stuff. I try to put as much color into it as possible by using red accessories.
My kitchen is an orange - Saffron Thread (Sherwin-Williams) paired with modern maple cabinets. I'm actually repainting it the same color this week after 6 years. It's the perfect color for a mid-sized kitchen with very little very little wall space.
I want that kitchen! Lovely!
