When Amanda was looking at realtor photos of the house she and her husband would end up buying, she thought for sure the door she saw off the kitchen would lead to a pantry closet. Not so! It was actually the laundry room. "And it was a beautiful, perfectly nice laundry room," she writes on her blog Kevin & Amanda. But she couldn't help feeling that it would make a perfect pantry — so she turned it into one. Here's what this room looks like now:
Have you ever seen a pantry so neat and organized? Wow!
But what happened to the laundry room, you ask. As Amanda writes here, she just moved the laundry room one room over to a little room near the garage entryway. This left the room off the kitchen empty and ready for a complete pantry makeover:
Amanda worked with a designer and a cabinet construction company to build custom-fit shelves for the space, including drawers, baskets, and a rounded corner storage unit right in the middle. She particularly loves how she's organized her small appliances: "I love the counter inside the pantry for storing appliances. So nice to just reach in and grab what I need."
