Reader Kitchen Remodel

Kitchn readers Jennifer and Sara recently renovated their kitchen, doing most of the work themselves on evenings and weekends. "We were without a functional kitchen for 10 days," Jennifer told us. But the end result was worth it: say goodbye to these dingy countertop and cabinets, and see the new kitchen below!

Such an improvement! The couple developed the design, purchased, assembled, and replaced all the cabinets themselves. In the process they also removed a wall to give them more countertop space, and installed new appliances and that pretty olive backsplash! (Which we especially like.)

They did have to hire an electrician to install new lighting, and a contractor to install the new countertops.

Looks like a lovely place to cook now!

Thanks so much for sharing, Jennifer and Sara!
