Reader Belinda's kitchen was functional, and had lots of cabinet space, but not a lot of personality. The wood grain cabinets and the beige walls made for a drab space that even her colorful dishware couldn't make up for.
Just take a look at how Belinda renovated and rearranged her space.
Belinda really lightened up her kitchen by removing a good portion of the closed cabinets. Not only did she replace the cabinets on the main wall of the kitchen with open shelving that show off her dishes and glassware, but she also knocked out one of the cabinet and counters that created an enclosed space.
By replacing it with an island counter she added seating and made it easier to have multiple people cooking in the kitchen.
No matter where you stand on open shelving, you have to admit this kitchen is a fantastic update on a previously drab space.
