Outdoor entertaining in the spring and summer time is my ultimate favorite pastime. A group of great friends combined with even better food and beautiful weather spells out a perfect occasion. Besides bad weather, one of the downfalls to outdoor dining is the pesky creatures buzzing around and landing on our food. But don't worry, there's a pretty simple and inexpensive way to prevent that from happening!
While browsing through outdoor serving trays on Sur la Table I came across this interesting Food Tent. It's rather large (measures 24" x 48") and can cover several large serving platters on a table. The tent is made from BPA-free materials so it's completely safe to keep near food. It even has a zip up window to allow for quick entry without having to lift up the entire tent.
If you're looking for something a tad smaller and a little more stylish, I found a Yellow Mesh Dome Plate Cover as well. This plate cover is super cute and made from powder-coated steel wire. These would look super cute for a more formal dinner party where place settings were put out for each guest!
What do you think of these food protectors?

Or there's this much cheaper one at Crate & Barrel for only $4.95. Folds flat for storage.

The one from Crate & Barrel is less than half the size of the SLT one, but I might prefer a smaller one anyway. The window in the SLT one is a nice touch.
These have been around in Germany for decades! My mom has a bunch of cute mesh ones in different colors, they fold up or down like a little umbrella. So clever!
My family and I totally had one for when we used to go camping when I was little. It was great. And helped!
These are really popular in Korea! Many people use them indoors when they leave food out on the table for somebody to eat later.
