For years I have been shoving the cord to my crockpot inside the container with the lid sitting slightly ajar when stored. I know it's probably not the best for the cord or the machine, but I never really had a better solution... until now. Enter: velcro!
Jennifer over at A Thousand words is always trying to keep things tidy. She recently shared this quick tip for controlling those unruly small appliance cords that always seem to be flopping about. Simply attach a piece of Velcro to both the cord and to your machine. This one small act can save your plugs from being squished and allows you to stack more in your cabinets if your lids are now sitting flat (in case you were a cord tucker like I was). Easy!

How well does the sticky-backing hold up over time under heat (as on a slow-cooker)?
The pedant in me must insist - that's not Velcro in the photo!
I am going to give this a try! I'm a little skeptical if it'll hold with the heat of the crockpot, but we'll see!

There are different kinds of double-sided tape. You'll just have to find one that is heat resistant.
