July is all grilling, all month! We're excited to get outside and cook - and we're definitely not going to limit ourselves to beef and brats. There will be grilled vegetables as well as steaks - maybe even some salad and dessert. We'll cover grills we like, tips, ideas, recipes, and other inspiration for cooking and eating outside.
While most of us don't have a grill (or a view) like that one above, many of us do have a grill stashed away in a closet or on a back porch. Time to get it going! And if you have no access to a grill at all, no worries; we'll cover some indoor options for getting that grilled taste too, like broiling and roasting.
Tell us here in the comments if there is something you'd like to see covered, or something you're looking for in a whole month of cooking and eating outside. Happy grilling!

These stuffed peppers were a hit at a barbecue not too long ago.
There is a link to the recipe.
You could leave the bacon out, substitute it with anchovy or go completely vegetarian with it.

I'd love to read about ideas for vegetarian dishes or recipes that stretch a small amount of meat, like kabobs or veggies in foil packets. My dad's been grilling bok choy lately, and it's great! I never thought of doing a leafy veg on the grill before.
For those of us who live in apartments and don't have grills, it would be great to see a little info on what kinds of substitutes we can use--the broiler? a grill pan? some sort of small contraption for fire escapes, balconies, or back stairs? Or do we just have to look at your delicious posts (along with the summer grilling issues of our favorite cooking magazines) and dream of a future with a grill?
I'm embarrassed to admit that only in the last year have I discovered the beauty of the broiler. I'd like to see an article or two focused on ways a broiler can substitute for an open-flame grill, and perhaps on technical differences between gas and electric varieties. Thank you!
