Jeannette's tiny kitchen is right in the middle of her 900-square-foot apartment, which is actually just one big room comprised of the entryway, living room, dining room and kitchen. While she admits her ideal kitchen would have "a concrete countertop and subway tiles to the ceiling," she made the most of the space by painting large black stripes on the kitchen wall!
The stripes turned the kitchen into a dramatic focal point. It fits in quite clearly with her home and kitchen design advice:
Think of your space as an art project. There's nothing you're stuck with, so feel free to bring new things in, and take old things out; have fun and let the space evolve to be an expression of who you are in the moment, on any given day, or week, or year.

Straw Mat from The ...

Heh, I like the stripes, but from the pictures, I totally can't tell how the kitchen is accessible, it kind of looks like it's completely closed off from all sides. Maybe my brain is just ready for the day to be over already...
I love the stripes!
This is great!
I love the whole apartment. The black and white stripes are my favorite. Especially with the contrast of the stairway above it. I'm always attracted to a clever use of paint on walls. This makes a beautiful statement of art.
