You might have already tried almond or soy milk, but what about banana milk? Yes, apparently you can make alternative milk out of a banana. A quick search on Google reveals a few homemade recipes, but a new startup — Banana Wave — appears to be the only commercial banana milk that's picking up steam.

The beverage created by Banana Wave is made from bananas, grains, and seeds. One (eight-ounce) glass of the alternative milk contains as much potassium as a small banana. It can be used just like any milk alternative: consumed by itself or in cereal, and in any of your baking needs.

Banana Wave was launched in 2013 by H.E. Neter Kush Ben Alkebulan; his fiancé, Trendolyn Hopkins; and his mother, Claudette Patron. They were recently picked up by all the Whole Foods in Florida. Banana Wave also has plans to be in Walmart as early as 2017.
