Yes, I've jumped on the chia seed bandwagon. How could I not? The little seeds, which are packed with nutrients, have a magical quality of turning liquids almost to gel. And they pack an added punch as a snack!
Working in an office, my last minute hangry snack options are few. To keep me away from the vending machine, I've started keeping a bag of chia seeds in my desk. Add to juice or a store bought smoothies and voila! It's instant snack material. Crunching on the gelled seeds tricks my mind into thinking I'm eating a solid snack, and it's far better for my metabolism than diving into the carb-laden vending machine.

Chia is awesome! It's also an incredible ingredient to have on hand to help boost your nutritional intake. It's loaded with Omega 3's,Omega 6's, protein, fiber and calcium.
I love putting it in a homemade lemon water: fresh lemon juice, honey, grated lemon peel and crushed ice. For kids I call it, "Ants in my Lemonade." They love it!
Chia is also a great addition to any baked good (add it to the wet ingredients, mix and let stand for 5 minutes before combining with dry ingredients), smoothie, oatmeal, vinaigrette or salad topper. Like the hot sauce commercial says....I put the s&*%^ on everything!
I put a tablespoon of ground chia seeds in my homemade bread. It gives the bread a nice moist crumb making it almost like sliced sandwich bread from the store.
I like to make chia seed pudding: chocolate almond milk, cocoa powder, stevia, chia seeds and some chocolate chips on top. Yum!
Also love it in overnight oats!
This couldn't be more timely, I just had lunch and was still feeling peckish so I mixed some ginger & honey crystals with a tablespoon of chia in hot water. And here you are talking about the same thing. Kismet!
I like to put it in my yogurt or applesauce! Bob's Red Mill has a delicious lemon chia bread recipe on their package of chia seeds.
Me too! Mine involves canned coconut milk, cocoa powder, and just a dash of honey. So delicious.
I love adding chia seeds to my homemade almond milk and it has a great thickened texture. Also - they're great for over night oatmeal. Super yummy!
Chia is sooo hot right now, probably because of its health benefits and versatility. I usually use it in my morning Chia Fresca (chia seeds, water, citrus juice, sweetener) but have also used it in oatmeal, baked goods, and even pasta dough!

Basil seeds do this as well.
Are seeds even digestible?? I thought they at least had to be crushed for humans to even have a chance of processing them.
