Most of us can only dream about living in a seaside cottage with ocean views, but there's something to be admired about coastal style, from the gorgeous hues to the use of natural materials and the sense of casual elegance. It's about open windows, relaxed breakfasts, pretty glass and baskets, and fresh flowers casually arranged. A great light fixture and plenty of beadboard don't hurt, either.

Straw Mat from The ...

I love this.
Especially the orange and turquoise mixed in with the light and airy white.
This is how every beach house/cottage should be decorated.
Wonderful inspiration but... why does Coastal Kitchen have to synonimous with Country Kitchen? I'm in the process of putting together what I call a "modern beach house" kitchen - very shiny and sharp, but with elegant seaside touches (red coral, ect.) and things with lots of texture to contrast with the smoothness of the cabinets.
Thank you for the inspiration, though. Lovely kitchens indeed! I just wanted to bring up a point that... I think it's obvious that Coastal Living magazine is published by the same people who publish Country Living.

I was wondering where those turquoise tea cups came from? Does anyone know?
please tell me #2 is not a roadkill chandelier, because that's certainly what it looks like.
