Breakfast might be the most important meal of the day, but have you ever thought of it without all the clutter of servingware? No bowls, no plates, no cups or glasses are present in these beautifully photographed works from Oliver Schwarzwal. Each piece represents breakfast from a different country around the world, can you guess where?
Oliver Schwarzwald was asked to shoot these pieces for the German magazine Feld Homme. We were greatly intrigued by the idea of beverages without a glass to retrain them, while smoke billows from a cigarette in another. Can you determine where each breakfast is from and what's on the plate? We reveal the locations below!

Russia is looking pretty tasty right now.
Love this. The Swedish and Russian breakfasts had both me and my fiance stumped (and he's Russian!)

Oh, how I miss a full english breakfast...
Ha! I guess I just confirmed just how Russian I am - I had virtually the same breakfast this morning!! Except the gooseberries - haven't had those since I was a kid in Russia :/.
And TEA!! that iced water (or is it VODKA?! which is just a horrible stereotype) should really be a cup of hot tea - loose leaf, no tea bags!
Okay, I know this might be perceived as nitpicky, but it's Britain, not Brittan.
Hmm, France minus the smokes is fine by me. Croissant from the French Bakery and coffee from the Bosch machine at work (50/50 mix of espresso and milk and a little sugar).
I'm so pleased that I guessed all of them except Russia! I was introduced to gooseberries in Canada so I guessed Canada...
Who eats pancakes AND cereal? Also, where's the coffee? Coffee is crucial to an American breakfast.
I can't say I recognize anything from the typically "swedish" breakfast other than the coffe. ;)

I had the French breakfast this morning (minus the cigarette).
If we're going for a big breakfast a la the full English, then the American plate would make more sense as pancakes, bacon, and eggs. Pancakes and cereal don't go together.
8 Sausage links for a British breaksfast? Whoah! Not where I'm from. Cut it down to 1 or 2, add in Bacon, mushrooms sauteed in butter, tinned tomatoes and brown sauce. Now you're talking!
Or my personal favourite: scrambled eggs on toast - no holds barred on the butter!
Where's the bacon in the English Breakfast and the milk in the tea? Also, strictly speaking it is England rather than Great Britain as ingredients would vary in Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland.
