We noticed these plastic RARITET jars on our last visit to the Swedish giant, and they piqued our curiosity. We're always on the lookout for better storage solutions, and we think that these plastic jars have several things going for them. But we're curious if anyone has tried them?
Here are the things that seem (potentially) postive about these jars:
• Tall and narrow, great for fitting in little apartment cupboards.
• Easy to grasp and pull out.
• Built-in measuring cup.
• Gradation markings, so it's easier to see how much sugar, flour, or rice you have left.
What do you think? Are these canisters a good storage solution?
• RARITET Canisters, $9.99 for 2 qt, $12.99 for 3 qt. In IKEA stores only.

Straw Mat from The ...

I bought one, and wanted it to work so badly (use it for cat food). But because of the way the opening is shaped, when pouring stuff out it goes all over the place, not just in the little cup.
Good to know about the bad pouring design. I was thinking these would be perfect for my newly organized pantry, but maybe not. Too bad they didn't make the whole lid hinge so you could use the measuring cup to scoop instead.
Try these canisters from The Container Store instead. If they can dispense dry laundry powder with no muss, they can handle anything!

I have them in three sizes, including the one shown. The one shown, I use for cereal and I have had a problem with pouring. I have tiny cabinets and they are great - I store dry goods in them but they also work well in the fridge. They are bit pricey but they look great.
we used those:

PS: these are from 365 Ikea series
I'd prefer something glass for food storage, though square would also be good... ideas? Does Ikea have anything?
