Q: I admire all the beautiful table settings you feature on The Kitchn, especially the ones with flowers, candles and plants. I am of Indian origin, so most dinner parties at my home involve the typical spread of dishes in the middle with guests serving themselves. How can I set a pretty yet practical table with flowers and candles?
The last time I had a dinner, I had a low vase with floating flowers and candles in the center. Very pretty, but it turned out to be a hassle swapping it out to make place for the food, without dropping water and hot wax everywhere! Can your readers share any ideas for pretty table decorations that are also practical?
