OK, everyone. It's the last weekend of the February Jumpstart project. You've got one more weekend to send us your kitchen reorganizations, hacks, new projects, and whatever else you needed to get done this month. You could win a hefty Etsy gift certificate (they sell lots of good things for the kitchen!). And to inspire you, here is another great idea from This Old House: a "built-in" cabinet made with inexpensive IKEA cabinets.
The author made good use of vertical space in a kitchen corner by piling six IKEA Varde units on top of each other. Some of the doors open downwards, and others open up. It's a good solution for an otherwise unused corner, and it creates a huge amount of storage in this tiny NYC kitchen.
Here's the whole piece, with directions:

Love the idea, but that's a $500 project. I haven't had the opportunity to look into these kind of undertakings, but does anyone else know how cost-effective that is?
Got to love those Ikea hacks.
I've got one up my sleeve...
They stole my idea! Well... I guess it wasn't like the worlds most mind blowing idea but I think that is a really cool one!! I have a weird jog in my kitchen where an old chimney was built over that I want to do this in.
Art, don't be mysterious! Share?
