Q: I'm hosting a burger bar party for 36 guests, including 6 kids. I'm planning on serving mushroom burgers, beef burgers, salmon burgers, grilled chicken, and grilled cheese sandwiches. How much of each burger should I make? I want to make sure I have enough!

Editor: My advice would be to start with the number of vegetarians coming and make sure to account for their meals. Next, assume 1 to 2 burgers for each guest and calculate out from there. Beef burgers will likely be the most popular among the meat-eating guests, so prep more of those and less of the others.
