How Do You Feel About Savory Doughnuts?

Today is not like yesterday. It's not like any other day, really. You see, today is National Doughnut Day, a holiday celebrating the gift of fried, circular dough that you can basically eat whenever you want and nobody will question your motives. It's important.

But let's step back a little from our normal sweet doughnut-loving selves and consider the underdog: the savory doughnut. Blogger Edible Perspective has created a KALE doughnut causing a lot of emotions and questions that need to be addressed.

First off, I don't think this recipe is trying to make doughnuts "healthy". You would never have these for dessert (or at least I hope not). It seems more like a sweet bagel or pizza than a doughnut. Perhaps these would be a great side dish for dinner when you're entertaining?
