Counter space around the sink is always at a premium in small and busy kitchens. We never seem to have enough room to let our dishes dry - and we also don't know where to let our wineglasses dry safely. Enter this Simplehuman two-tier dish rack that even has spots for your wineglasses! We love the look of it, but there are some mixed reviews on Amazon. We're curious - do you have this dish rack, and if so, what do you think? More photos and link below.

Bacsac Bacsquare 04...

it looks really cool - I'd be willing to try it
I don't have this, but just from reading the reviews, I see that having the utensil section outside the drain board (letting water drip onto the counter) would be a big dealbreaker for me.
For $57 I would like it to also quickly dry the dishes for me. Otherwise, I'm not interested.
I lack the vertical space for this, unfortunately. It looks neat, but I would not spend $57 on a dish rack.
I've owned this for about a year and a half. I have vertical kitchen counter space but not horizontal so I splurged on this.
Pros:
-You can get a ton of dishes in it!
-The drain spout really does drain nicely into your sink (and the holes in the utensil drainer do drain onto the board, not your counter).
-Looks good.
Cons:
-Water and debris get trapped in the drain trough, making it
really really hard to get totally clean. If they had fabricated this section differently and allowed is to snap apart--it would be great. I've tried everything. So, after a year's use, I'm stuck with some brownish looking stains and debris in that area. And the rack is slightly too large to just replace the bottom with any new dish drainer board, although I may give that a try soon.
-The price
I own this as well and agree mostly with mollyk.
This looks great on our counter, it does hold a ton of dishes, and the drain spout is excellent. HOWEVER, I get furious at this thing for not holding my plates (large and small) up properly! We have standard, round, porcelain dishes. And when we start setting them into the rack, they always fall over, clanging around. This sometimes causes other things to go crashing onto the counter and the floor. Also, if you want to only use the bottom tier, there's no way to attach the utensil holder. And finally, the utensil holder can only drain into the board if you place it on the wrong side, blocking the wine hooks and totally getting in the way. Mollyk, if you know a secret as to how yours drains properly without being in the middle of things, do tell!!
If this thing wasn't so expensive, I would give it away and get another one. Unfortunately, we don't have the cash to replace it. So we'll deal with it's poor performance. Sadly.
It looks like it has a lot of potential, especially with all that room underneath for misc items. I don't have the room for it at home, but it would be great for the large meals we have to clean up in our shared beach rental.
However, after reading the reviews the inability to really clean the drain is a bit of a deal breaker for me.
mollyk, have you tried pouring hydrogen peroxide into the drain pipe? I find it gets ride of all the gross stuff in my hard to clean dish rack.
fischbowl--I'll give that a try. Thanks for the tip!
Hmm, maybe I've been oblivious to the water dripping from the utensils holder? Or maybe it's the wacky off-kilter floors of our apartment that tilt it in *just* the right way. :)
I'm intrigued. Simplehuman products tend to be nice, but I have a hard time with that price tag...

$57! For real?
For your dishes? Really?
I use a towel on the counter...
$57!
Ok, sorry about that... I'll get off my soapbox now.
I don't use a dish rack at all so clearly I'm not in a position to pass judgement. It's pretty to look at, but I can not imagine paying that kind of money for a dish rack.
For $50 you'd expect a lot from a drain board, but this one comes up short by a lot. The design is very poor. I saw one comment that indicated that the silverware holder doesn't drain onto the counter-top but it does. The layout of the rack is very poor for either dishes or glasses. Glasses that don't have a stem roll over so that the water doesn't drain, but gathers in the bottom of the glass. Dishes don't stay up and we lost two serving dishes when they slipped through the opening on the side and broke on the floor. It was very difficult to clean the bottom rack, but we did manage to get it fairly clean with q-tips and an old toothbrush and bleach. They should have made it so the bottom rack comes apart for easy cleaning. The bottom rack isn't very good for miscelaneous items because it's too close to the top rack. I guess it couldn't be much higher because the top rack would hit the cabinets above. We made the mistake of buying one for ourselves and for a family member before we'd fully tested it and we're both disappointed. We have other Simple Human products (the garbage can works great), and we expected a similar experience with the dish rack but far from it. For the price we expected a lot more. Even at half the price we would have been disappointed. Back to the drawing board, Simple Human.
